We encourage you to share your voice and let City Hall know how important this initiative is to you.

  • Send a letter/email to the city to support the name change. Make a Zoom letter-writing party with friends! Write a letter as a family. Write your own or use our form letter. Your voice makes a difference! 
     

  • Buy our merch and wear your support.
     

  • Donate any amount: All your donations and purchases go back into our work – to advocate for respectful and inclusive place names (region-wide) that reflect these lands' oral history and the present-day communities residing on them. We focus on education, raising awareness, and elevating Indigenous voices with compassion and understanding. Donate here.

  • Creative Community Fundraising: host a movie night/discussion with friends, tea party, Zoom writing session, group painting project, or a potluck (endless creative ways! Ask participants donate a toonie!) Please share what you do and why this initiative is important to you on social media and tag us.

BUSINESS & ORG SUPPORT 

  • There are many options for businesses, non-profits, institutions, churches or clubs to offer support: carry a selection of our merch, donate a percentage of your sales (eg. every Thursday from 1-3pm coffee sales goes to The Name Matters; Sunday Night Dinner Special proceeds to The Name Matters; Film Screening proceeds to...), display your support by sharing your logo on our website, give a one time donation or on a regular basis – so many creative possibilities!
